A U.S. research company has conducted a survey on the "ideal boss."（米国の調査会社が「理想の上司」に関する調査を実施しました）

One hundred human resource managers in U.S. companies were surveyed.（米企業の人事部長100人が調査対象になりました）

The participants were asked to choose their ideal boss from among seven celebrity candidates.（参加者は、著名人7名の候補者のなかから理想的な上司を選ぶよう依頼されました）

Secretary of State Colin Powell topped the list, followed by Microsoft chairman Bill Gates.（コリン・パウエル国務長官が1位で、マイクロソフト社のビル・ゲイツ会長がこれに続きました）

Analyzing the results, the company has concluded the ideal boss must be skilled at motivating employees.（調査会社は結果を分析し、理想の上司は部下のやる気を引き出すのが得意でなければならないと結論づけています）
